Variants for optimum process adaptation
Whether for installation in insulated tanks, adjustment of the switching level for overfill protection or adaptation to practically all existing process connections, with various immersion lengths and high temperature versions, the optimum solution can be found for every installation situation.

 

Detection of foam and separating layers
In certain processes, the medium occurs in different states (e.g. liquid or foam). These can be selectively detected or masking (e.g. foam layer). A clear distinction is also possible between the media of one separating layer (e.g. oil on water).

 

Reliability with viscous media
In the processing of sticky and viscous media, viscosity and adhesion properties play a large part. For CleverLevel® adhering remains do not represent a challenge. It always switches reliably and is maintenance-free.

안녕하세요 TIATIP 입니다. 오늘 이시간에는 앞서 소개드렸던 Baumer의 Level measurement 애플리케이션을 위한 CleverLevel 제품군 가운데 LBFS의 새로운 업그레이드 사양을 소개해드리겠습니다.

Field of application

CleverLevel® LBFS is designed for level detection in tanks and dry-run protection of pumps by empty pipe monitoring. It detects liquid, pasty
or oily media, but also solid-bulk materials like flour or plastic granulate.
The LBFS is capable of media differentiation by distinguishing the specific
properties, such as oil, water, foam and liquid.

 


Reliable performance is assured in any mounting position (from top,
bottom or side). Depending on the desired process connection, different
mounting options are available. Corresponding mounting aids and
adaptors for conventional process connections are available as an
accessory.

 

Two parallel switching outputs are available as Normally Open (NO) and
Normally Closed (NC) which is defined by PNP or NPN polarity when
placing the order.


CleverLevel® LBFS in its default configuration covers a major part of
potential applications. Where customer-specific configuration is required
because of difficult media (e. g. foamy or adhering), the interface programming tool FlexProgrammer 9701 allows for easy parameterization
of the optimum switching points by convenient teach-in functionality.
The measured data can be visualized on a PC for further parameter adjustment, for example time constant of a damping function and inverted
switching output logic.

 

 

 

 

Masuring principle

An electrode inside the sensor tip builds a capacitor together with
the surroundings. The medium with its dielectric constant (DC value)
is defining the capacitance value. A resonance circuit is created in
combination with a coil in the sensor head. Switching signal tripping is
according to the measured resonance frequency and the programmed
trigger thresholds.

Baumer CleverLevel Switch - 거품층(버블/Bubble layer)인식 애플리케이션

오늘 이 시간에는 바우머의 스마트타입, CleverLevel Switch 를 활용한 세부 프로그래밍(세팅/티칭)으로 거품층(버블/Bubble layer) 을 인식하는 적용사례를 공유합니다. FlexProgrammer 를 이용하여 손쉽게 스위칭의 범의를 다양하고 세분화하여 운영하거나 상태변화를 모니터링 할 수 있습니다.

 

예를들어, 미디어가 유체인경우, 다양한 유체에 대하여 유체의 유무, 센서끝단의 오염이나 잔유물에 의한 간섭무시, 거품(버블)의 인식, 유체성질의 변화정도 등등을 현장의 니즈에 따라 간단한 티칭으로 안정적인 검출이 가능하다는 특장점을 갖고 있습니다.

해당 레벨스위치는 일반산업의 수처리분야, 식음료, 보틀링, 위생 부문 등등에서 파이프 및 탱크등의 다양한 레벨측정에 적용될 수 있으며, 어떠한 유체라도 하나의 센서에서 폭넓은 대응이 구현됩니다.

The widely used vibration level switches have vibrating forks that are quite large and which protrude quite a ways into the material being
measured.

 

Since pasty materials are prone to stick to these forks, it can often cause measuring errors. Coarse granular media such as grains can easily become lodged between the forks and also cause measuring errors. Moreover, not only are the forks difficult to clean, but liquid and powder substances even
require different fork designs.

 

With the sensors of the CleverLevel switch, no media remnants or solids are able to accumulate on the sensors. A precise and reliable level detection is thus ensured even under difficult circumstances.

Detection of contaminants in media
Contamination of media is not only an issue for food production.
Catching it early on in the process is economically advantageous.
For example, remnants of cleaning agents can be reliably detected in liquid
food products long before any subsequent processing takes place.

 

Protecting pumps from running dry
Pumps running dry is a critical process problem because it can lead to dosing deviations or damages. These challenges can be resolved even if the media is viscous or sticky.

 

 

 

 

Reliable filling level regardless of the media

Today, numerous industrial facilities are monitored and controlled around the clock with an automated system. Liquids and bulk goods are often involved in industrial processes where it is necessary to detect their respective fill levels. This is also the case in trains and ships where tanks and hydraulic machines need to be controlled.

 

Based on the frequency sweep technology, our CleverLevel LBFS switches are suitable for high-viscosity fluids as well as for solid or liquid media. Their compact sensor tip allows them to be integrated even in small pipes.

 

Since they are unaffected by turbulence, sedimentation, air bubbles, foam and even by suspended or floating particles, they are suitable for even the most difficult applications.

 

 

When it has to be hygienic – we have a clean solution for you

According to the high-quality housing materials such as high-grade stainless steel and PEEK, our sensors meet all requirements for the food and beverage industry as well as the pharmaceutical industry.

 

The tip of the sensor is made of a special, approved PEEK plastic that only protrudes 15 millimeters into the process. The possibility of the sensor causing flow blockages or undesired shadows can thus be excluded.

 

Starting up the sensor is as easy as the operation itself. All media are detected using factory settings. If you need to use the extended functions e.g. media seperation or PWM the switches are easily configured thanks to Baumer’s
FlexProgrammer.

 

 

 

 

One sensor for all applications

One sensor detects different media With pulse width modulation (PWM), you are able to detect different media in the same processing line or processing tank to differentiate the final product (e.g.different kind of fish sauce, different style of beer, etc.). The process uses an analog time signal that facilitates continuous measurement. The time signal changes according to the DK (dielectric constant) value of the media.

A high frequency sweep signal is radiated from the sensor tip into the media. The media will act as a virtual capacitor,  between the emitter in the sensor tip and the metal housing, which will form a circuit creating the switch point signal. This virtual capacitance will depend of the di-electric value of the media (DK value).
