Overview

 

The 4th generation ControlEx has been designed as a result of over 20 years of plug-and-socket experience. Manufactured in Stainless steel, the connectors provide unrivalled durability in hostile environments.

 

Both ATEX/IECEX, GOST & NEC certified, the connectors are Exd rated with an Ingress Protection rating of IP66 / IP67 and have industry leading DTS01 deluge protection.

 

 

 

 

The wide range of insert variables can handle up to 60 cores.

 

Other improvements include an all-new padlock facility, allowing the connectors to be securely locked to prevent accidental un-plugging of equipment and improved secure cap fixings.

 

The 4th generation ControlEx maintains many of the original features which made its predecessor extremely popular, including a variable keying system to prevent accidental cross-mating, modular gold-plated field crimpable inserts for ease of wiring and a fully inspectable flameproof barrier providing direct inspection of the flameproof seal.

ControlEx Features

 

(1) Easy Fieldwireable
Pin and socket inserts are numbered front and back to assist wiring and avoid
termination errors. Crimp and solder inserts available.

 

 

(2) Internal Keyway Spacer

Eases accessibility for termination as tube fitted after termination complete,
along with allowing easy installation into the required keyed position (See (4))

 

 

(3) Locking Pin
Optional locking pin provides the facility for mated connectors to be permanently
locked, via the use of a padlock, ensuring they cannot be separated under load. (Padlock not supplied)

 

 

 

 

(4) Keying Position
The unique visual 5 position insert keying system (3 on Ex16) along with the integral machined keyways prevent contact damage and ensures safe use by eliminating the possibility of misconnection of adjacent circuits.

 

 

 

(5) Running Coupler
Allows the connector to be installed onto a pre-assembled cable gland. Connector is rear loading and includes locking engaging nut.

  

 

 

(6) Acme Thread at Mating Interface
Unique ACME thread offers a smooth and quick fully mating action.

 

 

 

(7) Fully Inspectable Flameproof Barrier
Provides direct inspection of the flameproof seal and offers users the peace of mind that the connector is safe for installation.

 

 

 

(8) Anti-Rotation Device
Connector plugs and receptacles come complete with anti-rotation ring, which

1. Panasonic Aicure UJ30 and Aicure UJ35

 

The compact UJ30/35 controllers can be equipped with up to four individually controlled LED heads and, due to their small size, can be easily integrated into existing systems. Different types of UV-LED heads are available with an irradiation wavelength of either 365nm or 385nm. Because cooling occurs naturally (without a fan), the systems are well suited for use in clean rooms. To provide the best possible irradiation for the application in question, twelve different lenses are available for the heads. You can control the heads by either using the user-friendly panel on the front of the controller or via the digital interface. The UJ35 additionally offers an RS232 interface, which can be used for configuration and to create backups.

Thanks to our long experience with curing systems and the LED technology involved, we were able to create a system with the UJ30/35 that requires substantially less energy than conventional curing systems and one that offers many other advantages besides high intensity.

 

 

 

2. Panasonic LED technology

 

 

 

 

Each UJ30/35 LED head is equipped with a high-power UV LED. This means the heads enjoy a lifetime more than 20,000 hours! Moreover, the LEDs neither require a warm-up nor cooling-off period, nor will frequently switching them on and off shorten their lifetime.

3. High-power irradiation

 

 

 

 

The UJ30/35 LED heads offer a sensational UV irradiation performance of up to 12,800mW/cm2 per head.

4. Programmable with four independent heads

 

 

 

With a lamp type model, one process requires one irradiation unit. With UJ30/35, one unit can be used for up to four processes due to its four individually controllable LED heads. The irradiation can be programmed to control the UV radiation power and time depending on the resin and curing application, supporting high-quality, high-precision bonding with minimum shrinkage. In addition to the simple irradiation mode whereby irradiation is emitted continuously at a constant intensity, up to seven different irradiation patterns (product types) can be programmed for each of the four LED heads. This includes the step-up mode, in which the intensity is changed over time, and the interval mode, in which irradiation is performed at specified intervals.

6. Easy and quick installation

 

 

 

The extremely compact UJ35 controller can be set up either with complimentary PC software or directly via the controller’s well designed front panel. In either case, setting up the UJ35 is just a matter of minutes. Being equipped with a digital I/O interface with detachable terminal blocks, it is easy to connect UJ30/35 to an external PLC or PC. The UJ35 additionally offers an RS232C port. The LED heads have a diameter of only 12mm and can be easily secured with an optional jig. The heads' electrical (not fiber) cables can be extended up to 10m, permit a bending radius of 33mm, and can be bent 10,000,000 times or more!

7. Stable UV intensity

 

 

 

Each UJ30/35 head is equipped with a temperature sensor, which is continuously monitored by the controller, keeping UV irradiation stable within a range of  +/-3%.

8. Efficient curing without temperature increase

 

 

 

The irradiation beam of the UV LEDs does not include infrared rays, hence the temperature rise of the cured workpieces is minimal.

9. UV intensity measurement

 

 

 

The optional UV sensor for UJ35 measures the actual irradiation intensity of an LED head. Because the UV sensor measures just 5mm in height, the irradiation intensity can be measured directly at the work station or in the system without having to disassemble the equipment. When the intensity deviates too much from that required, the system can automatically adjust it as necessary. The advantages are clear: curing quality is consistent and process reproducibility very good.

10. Multiple safety features

 

 

 

This product has a function to detect breaks and short-circuiting of the LED head. The LED is automatically turned off if it overheats. Moreover, an emergency stop of UV emission is provided via a signal on the rear of the controller.

11. Fanless design

T&B® XD Expansion/Deflection Coupling for Rigid Conduit

A Better Solution for Expansion/Deflection Coupling of Rigid Metal Conduit!

 

Use the T&B XD Expansion/Deflection Coupling to join two conduit runs in applications where movement in any direction is required. The coupling provides a flexible, watertight connection, accommodating axial or parallel movement of up to 3⁄4" and angular movement of up to 30˚ from normal position.

While similar fittings exist on the market today, this new and enhanced XD Expansion/Deflection Coupling ships complete with an Erickson® type conduit union to significantly reduce installation time and effort and includes a stainless steel inner sleeve for extreme durability, protection and easier wire pulling. The hubs are zinc-plated and then coated with aluminum acrylic paint for dual-layer corrosion protection. In addition, the copper ground mounting plates and internal grounding bonding jumper are entirely enclosed inside the coupling for added security against vandalism and theft.

• Any other application in which conduit runs are subject to movement due to external forces or temperature changes

• Suitable for use indoors, outdoors, direct buried or embedded in concrete
• Watertight, flexible neoprene outer jacket, zinc-plated and acrylic-painted hubs and stainless steel tamperproof straps ensure superior corrosion resistance — ideal for use in harsh environments
• Copper ground mounting plates and internal grounding bonding jumper both entirely enclosed to safeguard against theft
• Includes an Erickson® type conduit union for faster, easier installation to reduce labor costs
• Durable stainless steel inner sleeve provides a constant, smooth inner diameter in any position to ease wire pulling and protect wire insulation
from damage

• NPT threaded hubs fit standard threaded rigid metal conduit

The new line of Shureflex™ Nylon Liquidtight Conduit and Fittings
from Thomas & Betts provides all of the benefits of a halogen-free,
watertight system for protection of electrical cables-plus hasslefree
installation to save you time and money.


With its unique, self-locking mechanism, the Shureflex™ system enables quick and secure installation without tools. Simply push the fitting onto the conduit, and you’ve achieved an IP66-rated seal with superior mechanical strength. For a higher IP rating, use the same fitting; just add a sealing washer to the fitting
and an O-ring to the conduit. Now you’ve achieved IP68 and IP69K
protection. Disconnecting is just as easy-press the release ring on
the fitting and twist and pull out the conduit. No tools are needed, and you
can reuse both conduit and fittings.


The T&B® Shureflex™ Nylon Liquidtight
Conduit System includes three grades of conduit to meet varying flexibility
and crush-resistance needs. Choose among straight and 90˚ fittings with
NPT and ISO threads, T fittings, Y distributors and a variety of other available fittings for special applications-plus a full range of accessories like sealing washers, O-rings, locknuts and mounting brackets-to meet all of your needs for safe, secure and watertight connections.

maintain service levels, such as T&B® Fittings for Expansion and Expansion/Deflection, Carlon® PVC Expansion Fittings and Ocal® PVC-Coated Conduits, Fittings and Accessories. These items are used on
